We offer other sightseeing tours of our regions, of a duration of 1/2 day or 1 day, to the Meravelles Caves in Benifallet, crossing through the Waterwheel of Cherta; the visit to the Castle of Miravet, the route of the wine: with the visit to the Modernist Cellars of Gandesa or Pinell de Brai, in addition from the visit to the Museum of Batalla of the Ebro, in the population of Gandesa, or the old town of Corbera, totally destroyed in the civil battle. Another interesting visit is Picaso’s Museum in Horta de S. Juan. In this population we can also see San Salvador’s Monastery and their Main Square with the porches than characterizes it.

Other interesting villages to visit in “Tierras Del Ebro”, would be Amposta or San Carlos de la Rápita.

Also we offer guide services for groups, to move away of Tortosa, but with a great architectonic historical interest like Morella or Peñíscola.

1. Horta de Sant Joan: medieval visit and Picasso (1 / 2 day)

Visit the town of Horta who has all the appeal of the medieval town. Located into the south of Terra Alta and borders the Lower Ebro and the Aragón.
We will visit the church’s square which is a spectacular piece of architecture, also we will visit the Renaissance town hall, the sixteenth century, then visit the parish church of St. John the Baptist, dating from the fourteenth century in Gothic style. Into the streets of the town, we can admire noble buildings among which the House of the Order (“Casa de la Comanda”), a palace.
Then visit the 'Parot' • a two thousand year old olive tree could be the father of all olive trees.
To end the visit, we go the old hospital, now Picasso’s Centre. This centre shows in more than 200 works, the production of the genius during his stays in Horta, the 1898 and 1909.La Picasso has a legendary phrase: 'All I know I learned in Horta de Sant Joan'

This tour can be completed with a visit to the lookout Ports Nature Reserve

2. The main vineyards of Terra Alta (½ day)

Explore the vineyards of Denomination of Origin wine from Terra Alta, and admiring the landscape we are. After visiting the main wine producing towns, Gandesa and Batea
Once in Gandesa (capital country), we visit the Modernist cooperative, built in 1919 by Cesar Martinell, Gaudi’s disciple.
To end the visit, we will go to Batea, where we get at the cooperative, once visited, we will see the church of San Miguel is an interesting neo-classical-baroque building of enormous proportions. It was built by Francis Meleto during the eighteenth century.

3. The Matarraña (1 / 2 day)

Journeying through the region of Matarraña until Pena-roja. Then visit the Ethnological Museum of rural life and the Sanctuary of “Mare de Deu de la Font”
of Gothic-Mudejar style, was declared a National Monument in Based on available time and to finish, we can stop in Val-de-roures, a medieval village crowned by the Castle and the Palace. Val-de-roures is the capital of this region.

4. Honey (1 / 2 day)

Arnes visit (the last town in Catalonia!) Which was the major producer of honey, as its name suggests. In Arnes we will visit Honey’s Interpretation centre where we can see, touch and interpret honey.
Also visit the crafts workshop, where virgin wax bee and learns techniques for making candles and will present us with a traditional candle made with cane.
Finally we will go to the ethno botanical garden where we will visit a workshop to learn about what plants eat bees.
There is the possibility of visiting the old oil mill.

5. Ebro’s Battle (1 / 2 day)

Terra Alta was the scene of the last and most bloody battle of the Civil War.
To pay tribute to all those who suffered, and to have these people live in the memory, the route traverses the most interesting places: the remains of the old village of Corbera of the Ebro is a symbol that dumb, and shows Clearly the tragedy of war, as a result of aerial bombing suffered throughout the battle civilians in the area.
After visiting Gandesa, the capital of Terra Alta, we will go to the Battle Ebro’s Museum.

6. As a movie (1/2dia)

A day through the region of Matarraña until the Freixeneda. That is a monumental headquarters of the Order of the Calatraus, the old town was declared a Historic Artistic Site. There are numerous monumental buildings such as the civil religion. We will visit the old town hall which was first built in the sixteenth century. The architecture we see has Gothic and Renaissance elements.
Finally we will see some areas where it was filmed by film • 'Libertarians' by Vicente Aranda.

Based on available time, we can stop in Val-de-roures to see the medieval castle.
